Titan Virginia Ready-Mix Leads Sustainable Development
WILLIAMSBURG, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The Virginia Ready-Mixed Concrete Association (VRMCA) will host Green Pavement Day to celebrate the country's largest pervious concrete installation at Prime Outlets-Williamsburg on Wednesday, March 19.
Titan Virginia Ready-Mix, a subsidiary of Titan America-one of the premier cement producers in the eastern United States-will provide more than eight acres of Envira(R) pervious concrete for the shopping center's expansion project.
Titan America's Envira pervious concrete is an environmentally beneficial, porous pavement whose unique void structure allows 8-10 gallons of water to pass through each square foot per minute. Because of this, Envira is proven to eliminate polluted storm water runoff, replenish aquifers with clean water and protect nearby bodies of water, such as the James River and Chesapeake Bay.
"Envira is one of the most cutting-edge concrete products we have today, especially where sustainable development is concerned," says Dan Osborne, Titan Virginia Ready-Mix General Manager. "Being members of the US Green Building Council, we're doing everything we can to develop, promote and implement building materials that promise a greener future for every generation to come."
Participation in Green Pavement Day is free and open to the public and includes a tour and presentation on Envira pervious concrete, a paving placement demonstration and a discussion about pervious concrete-related environmental benefits to the locality and the entire Commonwealth of Virginia.
